I NEED a dictionary!

Today Hannah wanted to be a princess. She got all dressed up and I asked her what she was doing.  She said, "It's complicated Mom, I'm just a princess!"  Then Jake said, "Did she say complicated? She is so precocious!"  These two!
On a side note, we had Sean and Jake carry in a flat of water and you would of thought they were going to die.  I was chuckling while taking these pictures. Keep in mind that Jake is yelling the whole time, "I don't want to grow muscles! Stop trying to make me grow muscles!"  That's a whole different story that I'll share later.

We Have Arrived!

Well, we are here. Not the best start.  I got pneumonia...
Most of our appliances in the rental are broken, along with the AC!  Here is the pile of debris from the dish washer drain.
We are getting through the boxes and soon the decorating will start (my favorite part!!!).
Crazy amount of boxes!!!  Once we get settled all will be well, just a rough transition.  The children have been so great and the boys have helped so much.  Our new ward has already helped with a blessing and brought brownies and cinnamon bread!  All will be well. :)

Awards and Cleaning

Today Neil received a PCS award. I think that is what it is called. They do that to recognize all of the hard work you have done before you move.  I didn't take a single picture!!! The Colonel asked Jake to pin the ribbon on Neil. I was distracted with all the all that was going on.
After the ceremony and some running around, we got some lunch.  Neil found packets of malt vinager and was in heaven.
We also finished cleaning the house. Tomorrow we turn in the keys!

Saying Goodbye

Every move we make I realize that more
and more I hate saying goodbye.  Our time in NC has been stressful. A month after we arrived, Neil left for Afghanistan and then soon after that came home so very sick. Although Neil is officially in remission now, it was a tough go. We also had many struggles on the school front. I feel like through it all I have learned so much but I am looking forward to a bit of a fresh start. With that being said, poor Jake has been so saddened by this move. He finally has a friend and he is sad to leave. After scouts tonight he needed to be alone.  Poor guy. Here is a pic of him and his buddy.
I am grateful for Jake's friend. Such a good boy from an amazing family.  Kind of a sad day :(.

My house is filled with boxes! It's raining outside and they are thinking of loading the truck tomorrow!  Crazy times...
We also made pickles today, so yummy!

Happy Birthday Sean!!

Sean turned 11 yesterday!  I can't believe it!  Sean is such a sweet and amazing person.  He tries to do the right all of the time. He is a talented artist and he has quite a singing voice. We are so grateful to have Sean!
We had a busy day opening presents, going to lunch at Red Robin, doing some shopping, went to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, got pizza, had cake and at the end the boys wanted to soak their feet in the bubblie tub!  Busy schedule but he planned it all and had a great day. Here are some photos from our day:

Hannah's First Trip to the Dentist

Hannah had her first visit to the dentist. She was so good!!!! No tears and she even let them brush her teeth.  The dentist was so smitten he took some photos for their website.  Quite the cutie.
None of the children or myself had cavities...that is a plus. I also learned something new. Rachel just turned eight and has not lost any teeth yet.  The doctor showed me her x-Ray and showed me all her teeth waiting to come in. He said it was normal for kids on the spectrum to loose their teeth late.  I did not know this!  All the children have been late loosing teeth and I thought it was just genetics, and maybe it is?!?

We had to pick our carrots a bit early in preparation for our move.  The kids thought they were gross. I didn't think they were bad. I'm going to plant more as soon as we get to Virginia!

Garage Sale

We have finished our moving sale!!! We usually have one the weekend before we move. The boys were helpful and Hannah had a great time. Rachel tried to avoid coming outside because of all the BUGS!!!  This is what we had left.
Hannah had fun wearing the cake hat, then eating the cake hat.
On a side note, Rachel has been obsessed with Peppa Pig and wanted me to make her Teddy. This is my best effort:
She was so very happy!

Rachel's Last Day at WPE

Yesterday was Rachel's last day at West Pine.  I can not say enough about her teacher, Ms. Aponte.  She exemplifies what a teacher should be.  I have been amazed by her talents and gifts and am grateful Rachel had the chance to be in her room for the last half of the school year. Rachel learned to read with Ms. Aponte and grew leaps and bounds in her abilities.
This is Rach and Audrey hugging.  They are sweet friends described by Elaina as Thelma and Louise.  So funny, Rach is going to miss her friend.

Happy Birthday to Me!

So yesterday was my 37th birthday!  I started the day with a yummy chocolate shake that Jake made me. Yummm
Then I spent the day organizing and going through old stuff. We are getting rid of a lot of stuff this move and I love it!  Later, after scouts, we had some cake.  I didn't eat any though because I don't really like store bought cake...
I love Rachel's face in this picture.
Family selfie:
I did get a nice gift today. After I had dropped Rachel and Sean off at social group, and Jake off at his friend Jack's house, Hannah fell asleep in the car!  She kept sleeping while I transferred her to her bed!  She took an hour and a half nap! I had alone time in the middle of the day!  Hey, I'll take it, happy birthday to me :)

Where's Parry???

Cute Hannah said today, "Mom, this is Parry and he is really, really awesome."  She makes me smile.

Pool Date

We spent some time this afternoon with the Hanosek's.  They are such a sweet family and I love their kids. So friendly and caring.  I'm grateful that we got to be friends.
Rachel's mad skills:
Hannah knows how to relax!
Sean's first time jumping off a diving board.  He is HOOKED!
Even Jake ventured out to the deep end!
He even fell in but stayed calm.  Baby steps :/

Sunday Treat

Today's treat...Carmel popcorn!  Yummy. It's the first time I've ever made it and it was so easy!

I picked up most of Jake's curriculum today. Look at that pile!  Jake seemed undaunted...that's good because I am very EXCITED!

Hannah Turns 3!

Hannah turned three yesterday! This is a throwback to her beginning days...she's adorable.
I bought Hannah a cute shirt to represent three. She thought the present was strange and then I couldn't get her to cooperate with a photo in her new shirt.
We then headed to the zoo. She LOVES to see the animals.  Here are a couple of my favorite photos:
Jake's first attempt at a selfie :)
When we came home we made a chocolate cake. For months when I asked Hannah what she wanted for her birthday she would say chocolate cake.
When Neil came home from work we went to dinner and came home for cake.
We had a wonderful day celebrating Hannah's birthday! She is an amazing little girl that has blessed our lives. She is independent but likes to play with others. She has an infectious smile and she is so smart. She is beautiful on the inside and out and we love her so very much! Happy Birthday sweet Hannah!
